How this works
- Official standard. The Home Office aims to decide 98.5% of straightforward citizenship applications within 180 days. Complex cases sit outside the standard.
- Our estimate. It is calculated from the Home Office's own queue figures, following the queue in order of arrival, not from individual reports. For applications made after the latest official data it projects the queue under three assumptions and shows a range. It is an average, so your case can be faster or slower, and the latest data is a few months old. See how it is calculated.
- Priority Service. GOV.UK says settlement and citizenship applications on the paid Priority Service usually take 30 working days. Read the GOV.UK page.
- Not advice. Britizenship is not affiliated with the Home Office. For the application process and your own case, see GOV.UK.
